Windows 7 SP1_x86; "WindowsUpdate_800B0100" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
Hi. I'm having issues, once again, with installing the SP1 on Windows 7. I've run the 'system readiness tool' provided, and recommended, by MS to no avail. The update is being sourced from a WSUS server. I'm yet to try a standalone, but will do this asap. Here's a link to my CBS.log file. - http://cid-0b60de96340780de.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/CBS.zip Any experts care to take a look? Thanks.

Hello, please try the following: Run chkdsk /r /f Run sfc /scannow Reset Windows Update settings If you have a MUI installed, uninstall it and try again. If this does not help, perform a repair install of your Windows 7. Also, make sure that you have disabled all your security softwares (internal firewall, antivirus ...). Hi Mr X Thanks for the swift reply. I'll try those things and get back to you asap with the result.

Ok, so I've run the tests you stated; neither of them came back with any problems. I can not reset the Windows Update settings they are controlled by an Administrator, and the updates are sourced from our WSUS server. I have tried running a stand-alone package of the SP1, but this fails straight off with this Error: TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE(0x800b0100) I'll look up this error now and see what I can find! Thanks.

For the 0x800b0100 error, it is mentioned that the install of the System Update Readiness Tool should solve it: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-800B0100 I think it will be better to contact Microsoft technical Support using this link: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527&st=1&wfxredirect=1&sd=gn This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. I've already run the 'system readiness tool.' My experience of it is that it does absolutely nothing; at least for me. I've contacted MS and hopefully I'll get a valid response, fingers crossed!

Ok. So MS contacted me to support, but, even though I told them that this computer was part of a domain, running Windows 7 Enterprise, they ring me only to tell me they can't support me because this department can't remote support a computer that's part of a domain... (Genius) So the guy tells me they will ring me back with the correct department. That was over a week ago. Obviously being a MS Gold Partner doesn't mean anything to MS. Poor customer service, and bad organisation.

I've got the same issue and the Readiness Tool doesn't help. The "FixIt" tool doesn't even see the problem. I finally wiped the drive and did a clean install from scratch but ran into the issue again. SO NOT HAPPY. Frustrating is not the word.....
